Installing the Correct A/C System is the Best Way to Keep Everyone Cool
Nothing is more irritating than an a/c system which is unable to keep up on a hot day. Many things can contribute to this problem ranging from dirty air ducts to an improperly designed HVAC system. Most homeowners think the only solution is to get their current sytem repaired or replaced when often times all that is needed is a thorough air duct cleaning.
If cleaning your air ducts doesn’t work, and the local a/c repair technician says the central air unit is working fine, then it is either too small or the entire system was poorly designed. So, to save money FIRST get your air ducts cleaned. That means the a-coil and the condensor along with the ducts. Secondly, if air duct cleaning didn’t help, call an a/c repair technician. Lastly, have a few HVAC comapanies bid on upgrading your system. Obtaining at least 3 HVAC quotes will insure you get the best possible price on design and installation.

When do I Need Air Duct Cleaning?
When do I Need Air Duct Cleaning?
By: Amy Nutt
Air duct cleaning is an important part of home maintenance. A dirty air duct can lower the quality of the air in your house by promoting the circulation of allergens and bacteria in the air.
When do you need to have duct cleaning? There are several signs that indicate the need for a thorough air duct cleaning. Here are some of the major points that indicate the need for an air duct cleaning.
1. The growth of mold inside the ducts or on the surface of the cooling or heating system. (mold growth can only accurately be determined by professionals)

3. If they are clogged with a great deal of dust or other debris…

Former President Bill Clinton says, ‘Clean Your HVAC System’
Okay, Clinton did not say that directly, but he did say it indirectly by promoting his ‘Green Building Program. It is no secret that an HVAC system which is operating properly will consume less energy than one that is old, dirty or not tuned-up.
All manufacturers recommend having your furnace and air conditioning system cleaned, serviced and inspected on a yearly basis. Manufaturers recommend this partly to save on equipment as well as to ensure they are running as efficiently as possible.
If manufacturers promote furnace and air conditioning cleaning and former presidents do too, there might be something to it. Consider having your heating system and air ducts cleaned on a regular basis. After all furnace cleaning often necessary to keep warranties intact.
Here is an excerpt found in the Architectual Record:
Clinton Creates $5 Billion Green Building Program
May 17, 2007
…Can fixing energy-wasting buildings stave off global instability? Former president Bill Clinton thinks so. In the biggest project his foundation has taken on since securing a supply of cheap generic AIDS drugs for third world countries, Clinton has brokered a $5 billion effort to finance the retrofit of old buildings in 16 cities around the world.
The project, which Clinton announced at a climate conference in Manhattan yesterday, creates a financing and labor pool to replace energy-hogging light fixtures, as well as install better building insulation and more efficient HVAC systems…

The Importance of Air Duct Cleaning
The Importance Of Regular Air Duct Cleaning
By: Amy Nutt
…Regular air duct cleaning has been shown to help prevent some health problems, while easing the stress of others that already exist. While some in the profession will argue that this has not actually been proven, it is strongly believed by others because of the improvement people have experienced after having the ducts cleaned. It is time to consider having your air ducts cleaned if the following occurs.
If mold is visible on or around your air duct, it is time to have it cleaned. This will remove the mold that can be potentially dangerous to you and others living in your home. Because of the nature of certain molds, it may be necessary to have this area treated before the cleaning takes place. It is important to remember that though a substance may appear to be mold, it may take an expert in the field to actually determine if this is true…
